DESK iPHONE DOCK
Do you miss the days of a landline telephone? Do you long for a time when you could hold a hefty but comfortable device up to your ear, rather than a light and puny little thing that you can’t even cradle between your head and shoulder? Well, your ship may have just come in.
Introducing the Key Desk Phone Dock — a device that looks suspiciously similar to an old school corded telephone, but is actually a dock that turns your iPhone into a landline phone.
This landline-wannabe has a candy-bar receiver that rests magnetically on the base, a dial for volume control with a flush mute button, and a recessed bay to charge your iPhone 3G, 3GS or 4. Underneath is a dial that even lets you adjust your iPhone’s tilting angle. And if you plug in a 3.5mm audio cable, the Dock can also become a speakerphone or music speaker.
To answer a call, you still have to drag the iPhone’s unlock bar like you normally would. And of course you’ll have to hit the END button to quit a call. But putting the receiver back on its base instantly places you into speakerphone mode, which is a nice touch.
The Desk Phone Dock is currently retailing for $150. Is it worth it?
