Last Friday, Diane Sawyer left her morning post at Good Morning America to replace the retiring Charlie Rose on the ABC World News. ABC political host George Stephanopoulos is leaving his Sunday political talk fest This Week to become Diane’s replacement on GMA. Good move? Or a disaster waiting to happen?
Some say the fluff-puff Diane Sawyer is a weak choice to be taken seriously as anchor of a fledgling network evening news program (a job her predecessor Charlie Gibson DID NOT want her to get). Others say the hawkish hard-nosed George Stephanopoulos is an odd choice to go from hot seat grilling of the Senate Majority Leader, to sitting on a sofa discussing hot-crossed buns with Rachel Ray.
