I didn't watch much of the Repubs convention because I couldn't take it. I did watch a lot of our convention though and I have to say it was really well done. The people who appeared and the speeches and all made you want to watch. Michelle and Barack hit the thing out the park. And like Truth said that muslim father put it to Trump when he pulled out the constitution and said I will lend it to you. Repubs are real salty today because they know there is no comparison to the conventions. My people at work have been looking away all day. Dems really showed how to put on a convention. As for Hillary, I watched her whole speech last night and I thought it was great. I think it should help her win some people not in her corner yet. All in all good job and thanks again DJ.

Excerpt:

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump distanced himself from the planning of last week’s Republican National Convention after the Democrats’ event, which ended Thursday, posted higher television ratings.

“I didn’t produce the show — I just showed up for the final speech on Thursday,” the Republican presidential nominee told The New York Times when asked about the differences between the two parties’ conventions.

Neilson ratings data obtained by the Los Angeles Times found that Democrats edged out Republicans during each of the first three nights of the convention. Ratings for Thursday night have not been released, so it is not yet possible to compare ratings for Trump’s and Democrat Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speeches.

Many had assumed that Trump’s television experience would lend itself to bringing more flair to the convention in Cleveland — Trump told The Washington Post in April that he wanted to add “showbiz” touches to the typically drab event.

But while Trump had Scott Baio from “Happy Days” and a video narrated by John Voight, Democrats marched out a panoply of celebrities including …[….] The Hill

….the Dems pretty much had everybody including a number of highly respected Repubs.

He was supposed to be an expert at getting ratings. […]

Chachi was the high point of the convention. […]

TH Reader:
At least Chachi thanked the troops. Nobody else there did. Not Donald, not Melania, none of his 4 kids, not Pence, not Cruz, not Ryan, not Cotton …. well, not anyone that I can find.

Once again the Republican party ignored the troops and their sacrificing families during their big convention.

But, conservatives did the same thing for Romney, so nothing new there. […]

One of the finest and most damning addresses of the Democratic National Convention was delivered on Thursday night by one of the event’s lowest profile speakers. Khizr Khan addressed the Philadelphia crowd to recount the story of his son Humayun Khan, a Muslim American soldier who was killed while serving in Iraq in 2004.

Khizr Khan painted a portrait of heroism, patriotism, bravery, and sacrifice—one that stood in stark contrast to the invidious message Donald Trump has issued to describe American Muslims and the unconstitutional religious test he has offered to bar Muslim immigrants from entering this country. Quite simply, Khan put Donald Trump to shame.

Khan’s message to Trump was more damning than anything delivered by any previous speaker at the DNC thus far.

“Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with their future. Let me ask you: Have you even read the United States Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy,” Khan said, pulling out a pocket Constitution as the crowd erupted in applause. “In this document, look for the words liberty and equal protection of law. Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery? Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending [the] United States of America. You’ll see, all faiths, genders, and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing and no one.”

It was this moment that should make every Republican politician who opposes that Muslim ban and still supports Donald Trump to feel a sharp, stabbing sense of shame [….] Jeremy Stahl, Slate writer

Though, how you ever managed to sit through all that madness of the Repub's convention is beyond me!?! But again I thank you.

My prayer is that – the more informed We are as a nation, the more Americans will truly understand just what's at stake in this next election. For all Americans who truly love this country and care about Our future the choices couldn't be more clear.

"A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons" – Hillary Clinton

The Dems did themselves Proud at their convention. SEE- the despair being expressed by Conservatives high and low.

"The Reviews Are In: Conservatives Say The DNC Was 'Disaster' For The GOP"

A lot of people may not like Hillary…though I suspect that number may be shrinking a bit as a direct result of those two highly significant events:

First: The Repubs convention in all its 4 days of proud promoting of fear, fascism, ignorance, authoritarianism, paranoia, division and Hate. I could go on but I'll stop there.

Second: The Dems convention in all its proud glory promoting, sanity, competence, faith and family, facts, knowledge/intelligence, Unity and Patriotism. I could go on but I'll stop there.

From now until November, if Hillary puts her shoulder to the wheel, works like she's never worked before and avoid at all costs being dragged into Trump's black tar-pit where he lives and breathes I think most Americans (even those who don't like her) will trust her to lead this nation.

"I can say with confidence there has never been a man or a woman — not me, not Bill, nobody — more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States of America," Pres. Barack Obama
