Doug Jones Upsets Roy Moore In Alabama!

Spread The Love

Sanity has prevailed in Alabama. Democratic US Senate candidate Doug Jones has defeated Republican sexual predator Roy Moore in one of the most bizarre political upsets in American political history!

Politics
For a state that hasn’t elected a Democrat in more than 25 years, Alabamians with a soul rejected the notion that an accused child molester was better than a Democrat and will be sending Doug Jones to represent them in the US Senate come January.  With 98% of all precincts reporting, CNN projected Doug Jones as the winner with 49.9% of the vote, over Roy Moore who carried 48.4% of the vote.  The stunning Democratic victory in a traditionally red state (made possible by a HUGE African-American voter turnout) will now construct the Senate with 51 Republicans and 49 Democrats — a virtual razor-thin margin.

Despite coming up short in the special election, Roy Moore refused to concede defeat and suggested he will call for a recount because “God is always in control.”

Hmmm…

Although Moore is the obvious loser of the night, the biggest loser is none other than Donald J. Trump.  “The Donald” originally backed Luther Strange in the Alabama primary, but he lost to Roy Moore.  Once the pedophile and sexual predator charges began to mount against Roy Moore, Republicans tripped over each other running away from him.  However, Donald Trump — at the urging of Steve Bannon — actually ran TOWARD Moore, linking himself to the accused sexual pervert under the belief that his “star power” could somehow carry Moore across the finish line. It didn’t!

So much for a man who claims he’s nothing but a winner.

Doug JonesWith this loss, Donald Trump has realized that he doesn’t carry the clout to get a dog catcher elected.  Additionally, with a 51-49 Senate margin, Trump will now find it nearly impossible to get anything passed.

The special election in Alabama was due to Trump’s decision to pluck Jeff Sessions out of the Senate and name him US Attorney General.  NO ONE believed a deeply Republican state like Alabama would ever elect a Democrat to replace Jeff Sessions. However, NO ONE knew that the GOP would run a child sex addict as their candidate of choice.

Politics
Earlier in the day on Tuesday, Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand called for a #MeToo investigation into Trump’s sordid past and known history of sexually degrading women.  As expected, Trump attacked the senator with a sexually suggestive tweet implying that Sen. Gillibrand would “do anything” for money.

“Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Charles E. Schumer and someone who would come to my office ‘begging’ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump,” the Oval Office occupant wrote. “Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!”

Needless to say, his words prompted a swift and immediate backlash, which culminated in a decisive victory for the Democrats in Alabama and a clear message to “The Donald” in the process.

To date, Donald Trump is in the midst of a losing presidency.  He has failed to pass even one single piece of major legislation.  He has also failed to lift any candidate he has personally backed to victory.  His actions are also now personally responsible for making Senator-elect Doug Jones a reality.

Granted, Roy Moore lost the election but Donald Trump has lost the game!

“Sanity has prevailed in Alabama” Indeed it has DJ…against ALL odds and not a moment too soon! Honestly, watching the results come in last night was a real roller-coaster ride for me AND my kinfolks -truly a nail-biter. And we were spent when it was all said and done. But VICTORY is Sweet…..Lol. Yesterday I said that for Doug Jones to have any of chance of wining he needed 3 groups, in particular, to show up….and SHOW UP they did. Blacks (in record numbers) White women (especially college educated suburban women) and Young adult voters. Another large group that showed-up for Jones – Parents (especially those having children ages 18 yrs and under). Congrats to Senator-elect, Doug Jones, and to his campaign, on running a great race. A Moore victory would have had far-reaching damaging consequences not only for the state of Alabama but also for this nation. Thankfully last… Read more »

“Although Moore is the obvious loser of the night, the biggest loser is none other than Donald J. Trump.”

Correct again DJ….and no matter how Donald tries to *spin* his way out of this…he knows it’s True.

He knows he IS and always has been “the biggest Loser.”

“The Math in Alabama Doesn’t Add Up to a State-Funded Recount Excerpt: When Mike Huckabee is calling you out for acting like a sore loser, it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. Huckabee on Twitter this morning: “Roy Moore won’t concede; says will wait on God to speak. God wasn’t registered to vote in AL but the ppl who voted did speak and it wasn’t close enough for recount. In elections everyone does NOT get a trophy. I know first hand but it’s best to exit with class.” That doesn’t seem likely. The entire Moore operation has been about Moore and his ambitions. A better man would have recognized he was endangering the values and ideas he claimed to stand for and withdrawn from the race. A better man would have answered all questions about his interactions with all of his accusers in great detail from anyone who… Read more »

I’ve been waiting for a chance to get to Ok Wassup to discuss this. Good points all around DJ. Especially the part that Trump is the biggest loser in this. Amen to that. There is no way he is going to get anything done now and he is not even trying anyway. He is supposed to be a winner but this showed he lost twice in Alabama. Everybody he backs loses which says a lot. Repubs should be getting real concerned for 2018 because Trump is a draw on the party. Also Trump should be getting worried about the # me too thing coming after him for his past. Things are about to get real messy for him in the new year.

Mr.BD

Also I forgot to mention, even though Roy Moore didn’t win he is going to be brought up again and again by the Democrats. Trump backed him and so did the Repub party after they first said they wouldn’t. Dems can’t let anybody forget that. Repubs were willing to put a child molester in there just to keep a Democrat out. They have to run on that and remind people every chance they get.

Truthiz1

I agree BD. And let’s NOT forget the role (mostly) Older, White Southern “evangelicals” played in all this.

They ARE who we’ve always thought are. Fearful Haters, Racists, Bigots and Hypocrites. And that’s just for starters.

CNN:
President Donald Trump went back to Twitter Wednesday morning following Alabama’s election stunner, claiming that he didn’t endorse Republican candidate Roy Moore in the primary election because Trump knew Moore wouldn’t be “able to win.”

“The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!” Trump tweeted early Wednesday morning.

Truthiz1

Absolutely NO shame to his foul-azz game. None whatsoever…smh.

USA Today:
A president who would all but call Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand a whore is not fit to clean the toilets in the Barack Obama Presidential Library or to shine the shoes of George W. Bush.

Well THAT quote certainly got my attention, when I first heard it being referenced this morning on Joe Scarborough!
