DR. CONRAD MURRAY GOING TO JAIL
Yesterday was sentencing day for Dr. Conrad Murray in the involuntary manslaughter death of Michael Jackson — and the judge threw the book at him!
Judge Michael Pastor sentenced Dr. Murray to the maximum 4 years in prison, saying “Dr. Murray engaged in a recurring, continuous pattern of deceit and lies.” Pastor also took offense to Murray seeming incredulous, far from remorseful, and as if HE was the victim. “There’s umbrage and outrage on the part of Dr. Murray against the decedent,” Pastor said, referring to Murray’s critical comments about Jackson in his recently-aired documentary. “Dr. Murray abandoned his patient,” and his conduct was … “medicine madness,” “egregious” and “a disgrace to the medical profession.”
But in spite of the 4 year prison sentence, Murray will not serve a single day in prison because of a new California law. Due to overcrowding in California prisons and the steep financial bind the state is in, Murray will instead serve his time in the L.A. County Jail, which means he will likely serve half or less of the sentence.
If Dr. Conrad Murray ends up being in the county jail for 2 years or less, is this truly justice for the King of Pop dying on Murray’s watch?
