It took years of political and social fighting to make this day a reality, but now it is here. With banks, post offices, as well as some schools and offices closed today, this is a day ON, not a day OFF and a perfect opportunity to uphold the ideals of Dr. King’s dream. Participate in a local King Day activity, initiate some gesture of racial unity, or just educate yourself on the civil rights era and the sacrifices Dr. King and others made to truly create an America where all men (and women) are created equal.
If you can’t fly, RUN
If you can’t run, WALK
If you can’t walk, CRAWL
But whatever you do,
You have to keep moving forward!
