Americans were “out of this world” on Monday with the historic total solar eclipse that swept across the US.

For the first time in nearly 40 years, the eclipse was a spectacle that mostly entertained America. With the moon crossing the sun at a speed of 2000 MPH, the solar show commenced in the Pacific Northwest, traveled across the plains of the Midwest, then ended along the Atlantic coastline near South Carolina. Millions of people from around the world flocked to US cities along the path of totality to witness the rare sight, which turned an afternoon into night for nearly 3 minutes.
NASA scientists warned everyone who wanted to look directly at the sun in real-time to wear special protective sunglasses to prevent temporary eye damage or even total blindness. However, a photo of The Trump’s on the balcony of The White House proved that apparently, “The Donald” didn’t get the memo.

Perhaps the biggest miracle of the day is that most Americans joined together to collectively look up at the sky for an hour — instead of down at their cell phones in seclusion like usual.
