Using Facebook to vent her wrath, 37-year-old MaryKate Nyman Blankenburg is now on administrative leave from Central Bucks West High School and under investigation by the local District Attorney, after Eric Garner protesters inconvenienced her and her son’s attendance of an Eagles game last Sunday.
“If my child cannot get to the Eagles game due to protesters, I will personally SHOOT everyone one of them. You’ve been warned idiots,” the school counselor boasted on Facebook. Apparently, she never considered the weight or consequences of her words.
Parents were outraged upon hearing news of the threats, calling her behavior nothing short of unacceptable.
“I personally think she should get fired, nobody should talk like that, especially a teacher,” parent Samantha Kraus of Doylestown, Pa. said. “You have to be careful what you say and think before you say it,” Jennifer Quinn of Quakertown, Pa. said.
“Frankly, it was a bad choice of judgment and it’s a little bit further because it’s a teacher and they are representatives of the community and the children look up to them,” parent Debbie Stein of Buckingham, Pa. said.

Central Bucks Schools Superintendent Dr. David Weitzel condemned the counselor’s actions, saying “Responding with urgency and concern, we immediately began an investigation, including verification of the source, and we will take appropriate action once we learn all the facts.”
With emotions already running high throughout the country, this counselor seems desperately in need of some counseling of her own, as well as some further education on decorum and what not to say or do as a community role model.
Sadly, given the "racist" culture in that part of PA I would say her reprehensible behavior is par for the course. A little backgound – Central Bucks High School is located in the small burrough of Doylestown, PA (in Bucks County) about 27 miles north of Philly. As per the U.S. government's Census (State and County) Quick Facts website, Doylestown has a population of about 8, 400 people, with the racial breakdown being 94.8% White and 1.3% Black. As I've shared before, I was born and raised in South Central PA and am familiar with the different cultures throughout the different regions of the state. Most of Central PA (not to be confused with SOUTH Central PA) has long been referred to as "Little Alabama." And racist towns and communities around the city of Philly_as well as a huge chunk of Western PA._are hardly secrets (I would guess) to most… Read more »
