Election 2021 Results Appear Razor-Thin

Spread The Love

The results of Election 2021 were still too close to call as of midnight Tuesday night, with razor-thin margins that surprisingly favored Republicans.

Politics
Voters across the US went to the polls on Tuesday for a variety of elections, with the most important races taking place for the governorships of New Jersey and Virginia.  Let’s take a look at 3 pivotal contests.

Election 2021
NYC Mayor-elect Eric Adams

NEW YORK CITY

Democratic candidate Eric Adams handily defeated Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa (founder of the Guardian Angels) for Mayor of New York.  Adams, a moderate Democrat and former NYPD police captain, will succeed outgoing Mayor Bill De Blasio in January and will become only the 2nd Black mayor in New York City history (with David Dinkins being the first).

“Today we take off the intramural jersey and we put it on one Jersey: team New York,” mayor-elect Adams said during his victory speech. “So brothers and sisters, and the people of our city, they have spoken. And tonight, New York has chosen one of you. One of our own. I am you.”

VIRGINIA

Election 2021 presented a shocker on Tuesday with Republican Glenn Youngkin defeating Democratic challenger, former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, to become the next governor of Virginia.

With more than 94% of the vote in, Youngkin was declared the winner late Tuesday night by a margin of 51% to 48%. He has now successfully turned the traditionally blue Commonwealth of Virginia red and will become the first Republican in 12 years to lead the state.

Gov. McAuliffe tried but failed to link Youngkin to Donald Trump. However, Youngkin did the unthinkable and rejected Trump and his message. He even respectfully declined Trump’s help with the election — a strategy that seemingly helped him win.  Could this become the new GOP playbook for 2022?

NEW JERSEY

As of this writing, the race between New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and his GOP challenger, Jack Ciattarelli, was too close to call.

As of midnight on Tuesday night, Ciattarelli was leading the Democratic incumbent governor 50.1% by 49.2%. However, these margins were before several Democratic strongholds — including the city of Newark — were counted. Once the numbers from Newark and other heavily Democratic and African-American districts are calculated, Gov. Murphy believes he can squeak out a win.  Stay tuned…

So, what message have US voters delivered with Election 2021?  Apparently, the message is that the power of and need for Donald Trump is waning — and that infighting between liberal and moderate Democrats (which has stalled the Biden agenda and is getting nothing done in Congress) has its consequences and is hurting the party.

Dems do this every time. We start fighting among ourselves and get nothing done. Then Repubs take over. If we are not careful we can lose congress next year.

And let the Church say AMEN!

The race in NJ surprised me just a little…because it’s New Jersey.

However, the outcome in Virginia didn’t surprise me at all…because it’s Virginia. A reliably “Red” state until Obama was elected President in 2008. AND because people are truly sick and tired of the Dems constant infighting and incompetence while a deadly virus still looms and absolutely NOTHING positive gets done to address anything.

I think these elections are the best WAKE-UP message for Biden and the Dems:

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER OR YOU’RE DONE!!!
