Tuesday was Election Night 2022 all across America. Let’s take a look at who won, who lost, and who came close.
Politics :
First and foremost, it’s important to note that the days of election results being tabulated and announced on election night are dead and done. Mailed ballots, mandated run-offs, recounts, and lawsuits during current-day elections mean most results may not be known for days until after the final vote was cast.
With that said, some races have been decided and many more are still too close to call. Let’s take a look at what we know:
GOVERNOR
The governor races of Election Night 2022 were easier to call/project a winner.
According to The New York Times, Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp won a 2nd term, defeating Democratic challenger Stacy Abrams who conceded the race late Tuesday night.
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott defeated Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke in Texas, while Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis won against Democratic challenger Charlie Crist in Florida.
However, it wasn’t all good news for the GOP among the governor races.
Democrat Wes Moore defeated Republican Dan Cox in Maryland, becoming the first African-American governor of that state.
Democrat Maura Healey defeated Republican Geoff Diehl in the Massachusetts contest for governor. Healey will become the first openly-lesbian governor of that state.
In Pennsylvania, Democrat Josh Shapiro will become the next governor, defeating Doug Mastriano.
As of this writing, Democrat Katie Hobbs was leading the Donald Trump-endorsed GOP candidate Kari Lake. If Hobbs is able to hold her lead, this would be a devastating loss to the Trump/MAGA movement.
US SENATE
As of midnight on November 8, many of the Election Night 2022 US Senate races were still too close to call.
In Florida, incumbent Republican Sen. Marco Rubio was projected as the winner against Democratic challenger, Rep. Val Demmings.
In Wisconsin, the race between incumbent Republican Sen. Ron Johnson and Democrat Mandela Barnes was neck-and-neck.
In Pennsylvania just after 1am, Democrat John Fetterman declared victory over GOP challenger Dr. Mehmet Oz, sealing a huge win for the Democrats.
In Georgia, the race between incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and GOP challenger Hershell Walker was also still too close to call. However, Georgia requires an automatic run-off if any one candidate does not win at least 50% + 1 of the vote. It appears a run-off race is all but certain in Georgia.
US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
With hundreds of races across thousands of districts in dozens of states, Republicans appeared in the lead to control the US House. Still, this is not yet set in stone, so stay tuned.
All-in-all, Election Night 2022 may be over but the results are far from it. However, it may be safe to say that the Republican “Red” wave many pundits were expecting did not occur.
OK WASSUP! will provide further details on the most important races all week!

You got that right DJ, it most certainly was NOT a “Red” wave. Not even close!
At best it was a “ripple” and an absolute LOSS for Trump and MAGAworld, as most of Trump’s election-denying surrogates, in particular, were defeated by their Democrat opponent.
American Democracy won last night thanks to the majority of WE The People (American voters) who voted in record numbers all across Our nation to save Our democracy!
