Election Night 2022 Predictions And Results

Spread The Love

Tuesday was Election Night 2022 all across America. Let’s take a look at who won, who lost, and who came close.

Politics :
First and foremost, it’s important to note that the days of election results being tabulated and announced on election night are dead and done. Mailed ballots, mandated run-offs, recounts, and lawsuits during current-day elections mean most results may not be known for days until after the final vote was cast.

Election Night 2022

With that said, some races have been decided and many more are still too close to call. Let’s take a look at what we know:

GOVERNOR

The governor races of Election Night 2022 were easier to call/project a winner.

According to The New York Times, Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp won a 2nd term, defeating Democratic challenger Stacy Abrams who conceded the race late Tuesday night.

Election Night 2022
Wes Moore

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott defeated Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke in Texas, while Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis won against Democratic challenger Charlie Crist in Florida.

However, it wasn’t all good news for the GOP among the governor races.

Democrat Wes Moore defeated Republican Dan Cox in Maryland, becoming the first African-American governor of that state.

Election Night 2022
Maura Healey

Democrat Maura Healey defeated Republican Geoff Diehl in the Massachusetts contest for governor. Healey will become the first openly-lesbian governor of that state.

In Pennsylvania, Democrat Josh Shapiro will become the next governor, defeating Doug Mastriano.

As of this writing, Democrat Katie Hobbs was leading the Donald Trump-endorsed GOP candidate Kari Lake. If Hobbs is able to hold her lead, this would be a devastating loss to the Trump/MAGA movement.

US SENATE

As of midnight on November 8, many of the Election Night 2022 US Senate races were still too close to call.

In Florida, incumbent Republican Sen. Marco Rubio was projected as the winner against Democratic challenger, Rep. Val Demmings.

In Wisconsin, the race between incumbent Republican Sen. Ron Johnson and Democrat Mandela Barnes was neck-and-neck.

In Pennsylvania just after 1am, Democrat John Fetterman declared victory over GOP challenger Dr. Mehmet Oz, sealing a huge win for the Democrats.

Midterm Election Update
Warnock and Walker, Fetterman and Oz

In Georgia, the race between incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock and GOP challenger Hershell Walker was also still too close to call. However, Georgia requires an automatic run-off if any one candidate does not win at least 50% + 1 of the vote. It appears a run-off race is all but certain in Georgia.

US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

With hundreds of races across thousands of districts in dozens of states, Republicans appeared in the lead to control the US House. Still, this is not yet set in stone, so stay tuned.

All-in-all, Election Night 2022 may be over but the results are far from it. However, it may be safe to say that the Republican “Red” wave many pundits were expecting did not occur.

OK WASSUP! will provide further details on the most important races all week!

You got that right DJ, it most certainly was NOT a “Red” wave. Not even close!

At best it was a “ripple” and an absolute LOSS for Trump and MAGAworld, as most of Trump’s election-denying surrogates, in particular, were defeated by their Democrat opponent.

American Democracy won last night thanks to the majority of WE The People (American voters) who voted in record numbers all across Our nation to save Our democracy!

Btw once again, actual exit polling results show that pre-election polls touted over and over and over again every single day by cable news, in particular, for the past year ended up being mostly worthless!

Regular readers know how i feel about polls when it comes to anything related to politics.

Polls are now, and have been for quite some time, mostly Useless as predictors of what issues are most important to voters and how elections will turn out.

To echo Chris Matthews – WE (the voters) get to decide. NOT pollsters! NOT pundits!

And let the church say amen.

Truthiz1

Regular readers know how i feel about Stacey but she really should NOT have run this time. Her plate was too full. I never felt that her heart was really in it and she got clobbered by Kemp!

Hopefully she’ll get a little rest and then get to work on helping to get out the vote for Warnock in the run-off election which, as DJ said appears to be “all but certain” at this point.

Mr.BD

This one hurt the most. But what else was she doing that you say her plate was full? I do not know about any of this. She should have been all focused on winning. What happen?

Truthiz1

When you have some free time check out her history, especially her role at Fair Fight Action and Sage Works, and Nourish Inc. later rebranded as “Now.”

She’s a very busy woman BD. I think she’s tired and her heart just never seemed to be fully in this race…at least not to me. Then there’s THIS recent story which may be on her mind too:

‘Abrams’ campaign chair collected millions in legal fees from voting rights organization’

Fair Fight Action, the nonprofit founded by Abrams, paid her close friend and ally’s law firm $9.4 million in 2019 and 2020, with two more years of billing yet to be disclosed.

Ooh they are crying now lol.

Guess I’m on a roll today……. Florida. How the Dems screwed around and threw that state away is beyond me!?! So 10-14 yrs after Pres. Obama won that state Florida is now a reliably “Red” state politically speaking. Just look at yesterday’s results. Both, Charlie Crist and Val Demings got their butts kicked! In addition to the fact that I don’t think either of them ran a particularly good campaign, I would also posit that the Dems complete failure to recognize the demographic changes in that state and to effectively outreach to socially conservative-Leaning voting groups led to the “tsunami” that hit Val and Charlie yesterday. As per the exit polls, the 3 primary groups supporting DeSantis and Rubio are White men (no surprise), Latinos (especially Cubans) and people age 45 and over. IF Floridians are no longer voters Dems can relate to, then Dems had better start paying REAL… Read more »

Hey Truth I heard something on CNN saying Desantis fixed the vote in Florida by changing the rules and putting up election police and all that. He rigged the rules before they even vote.

Truthiz1

DeSantis is a more polished version of Trump and yes we know he’s capable of pulling some mighty foul shenanigans to benefit himself. However, I’m not aware he actually “fixed” any votes yesterday.

He put a 20 point beatdown on Charlie Crist. If CNN has proof that he actually “fixed” votes, they should’ve reported their evidence to the law already!

Truthiz1

And just when you thought he couldn’t possibly go any lower…(pause)…Lol. I’m kidding. Of course he can go lower!

I am late getting to this today. But I was so happy at how things turned out. Everybody thought Repubs were going to blow Dems out the water. That never happened. If Dems can hold on in Nevada and Arizona and then win Georgia that is the majority right there without Kamala Harris.

Truthiz1

No worries BD. Was waiting on you to chime in.

Thought Wil would have checked in by now also.

Mr.BD

I checked out some news sites and Repubs are hanging their head real low today. They are saying without trying to say it but Trump and MAGA dragged them down. Trump put up candidates to help him instead of ones that could win. That was a problem. I heard one Repub say this proves Trump is not a king maker lol.

Truthiz1

The right-wing sites I’ve checked out have been having nervous breakdowns all day and making it clear they want him GONE….Today!

But umm…good luck with that because they know darn well, he ain’t going nowhere!

They are stuck with him -like a nasty virus- and they have no one to blame but themselves.
