Just 25 percent said they should remain legal. Those numbers were even more startling among political independents, 78 percent (!) of whom say super PACs should be illegal. (Full question wording is at the end of this post). The widespread disgust directed toward super PACs from voters comes amid a Republican presidential primary election season in which these organizations have played an outsized role. I still don't think today is gonna change much and nobody will drop out. Every body has a case why they need to stay in so they will for at least a few more weeks. Will be interesting to watch the results tonight tho.

In this regard, Nate Silver's is the ONLY guy I pay any attention to at all.Nate Silver: "Polling in Deep South Has Posed Challenges"The polls suggest a tight race in Alabama and Mississippi, which will hold their primaries on Tuesday. Our polling-based forecasts show Newt Gingrich with a very small lead in Alabama and Mitt Romney with an equally small one in Mississippi. Rick Santorum seems to have fallen to third in both states, but remains in striking distance.I’ve been placing less emphasis on the polls than usual, however. The reason is that polls in these states have a pretty awful track record. If you had looked at the Real Clear Politics average of polls in Alabama in advance of the 2008 primaries, for instance, you would have called the Republican and the Democratic races wrong. Hillary Rodham Clinton had a nominal advantage in the Democratic race there, leading in the Real Clear Politics average by about one percentage point. But in fact, Barack Obama won. It wasn’t even close; he carried the state by 14 percentage points.A similar problem was evident on the Republican side. [….]Read: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/…After what I witnessed (I really paid close attention to) 4 yrs ago, I'd say polls period have a horrible track record. I've vented about it on more than one occassion right here at *OK WASSUP!*.And all I'm saying is tonight's results had better be close_REAL CLOSE_with Romney taking either 1st OR 2nd place as just about EVERY major poll has repeatedly indicated, as touted by THE MEDIA, over the past 5-6 days. I don't mind giving credit where credit is due. But pre-vote polling results had better hold up tonight.

No question about it. A sidenote….. When you factor in the following: 1. Rising gas prices and the President's continued FAILURE to PROACTIVELY get out in front of this story to calm the growing anxiety of Americans worried about day-to-day financial stressors….AND…2. The uncertainty of Afghanistan and, even more dangerous, Netanyahu (backed by Israeli zionists AND American neoCONs) just itching to start a war with Iran…. IF soCONs really begin to unite around Mitt it will make the contest between him and the President a real fight. The President, IMO, is still most likely to be re-elected (Romney is a dreadful candidate and the GOP is mucked up in general) but the race will be closer because most Americans are easily spooked, extremely reactionary and very fickled.
