It’s the end of a very contentious week and time to visit the election results 2020 to discuss the current state of the race as we know it.
Politics
Tuesday night, November 3rd, was a dreadful night for many Democrats. This being the first election ever with so many states allowing early voting and so many voters taking advantage of vote-by-mail due to the ongoing pandemic, the appearance of results on Tuesday night caused many meltdowns and near-heart attacks. Donald Trump spent months damning vote-by-mail as rife with fraud and encouraged his MAGA supporters to vote in person on election day. Since every state tallies their in-person/day of election votes first, Trump appeared to be the winner on Tuesday night — just as he planned.
However, as early votes and mailed-ballots were counted for election results 2020, we all saw the narrative change which brought us to the current electoral tally of 253 for Joe Biden and 214 for Donald Trump. Because 270 electoral votes win the presidency, Joe Biden is poised to win it all among the still-outstanding states of Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Alaska, and Pennsylvania.
If Mr. Biden wins Nevada’s 6 electoral votes and Arizona’s 11 (2 states where he is currently leading), he will win the presidency. If he wins Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes by itself, he will win the presidency. In fact, Mr. Biden seems poised to win Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, for a grand total of 306 electoral votes — more than enough to win the presidency.
Donald Trump’s early electoral lead was what political analysts warned us in advance would be a red “mirage.” He appeared to be in the lead when, in fact, he wasn’t once states began tallying all of the votes. So, it was no surprise when Trump called an impromptu news conference inside The White House on Thursday to claim (without an ounce of proof or merit) that there had been widespread voter fraud, that “they” (no one knows who “they” are) have been trying to steal the election from him, and that his supporters should be prepared for war.
Additionally, the Trump children ate the election results 2020 alive. First, they damned Fox News for daring to call Arizona for Joe Biden. Then, they personally called out various Republicans for going radio silent and not backing ‘The Donald’ on his made-up claims of voter fraud.
“Where is the GOP?! Our voters will never forget … ” tweeted Eric. “The total lack of action from virtually all of the ‘2024 GOP hopefuls’ is pretty amazing,” tweeted Don Jr. “They have a perfect platform to show that they’re willing & able to fight but they will cower to the media mob instead.”
Their wails for help were a rallying cry for MAGA supporters to “stand up” for Trump (read: prepare to make trouble). And that’s exactly what they did.
On Wednesday, Trump supporters stormed the TCF Center in Detroit in an attempt to challenge the votes. However, a coalition of Black voters put a stop to those plans, telling reporters Black voters have “gone from picking cotton to picking presidents.”

Late Wednesday night, a sea of MAGA followers gathered outside an Arizona vote-counting facility and demanded they stop counting the votes because they were supposedly “fraudulent.” The facility was forced to shut down early out of safety for the Republican and Democratic volunteers inside who were simply trying to fairly count all the votes.
On Thursday not long after Trump’s press conference, the Philadelphia Police Department foiled a plot by a Humvee full of MAGA supporters who set out to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Center where ballots are currently being counted. Reportedly, the group was following marching orders from Donald Trump, who wanted all vote-counting in Pennsylvania halted (leaving Trump the winner and hundreds of thousands of voters disenfranchised).
.
Also on Thursday, Twitter permanently banned former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who called for the beheading of FBI Director Christopher Wray and COVID specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci.
“Second term kicks off with firing Wray, firing Fauci, no, I actually want to go a step farther, but the president is a kind-hearted man and a good man,” Bannon said. “I’d actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England. I’d put their heads on pikes, right, I’d put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats, you either get with the program or you’re gone.”

As of this writing, here’s where the election results 2020 stands:
- Joe Biden currently has 253 electoral votes and is expected to surpass the 270 needed votes sometime this weekend to become the president-elect.
- Donald Trump has been boasting for months that he intended to file myriad lawsuits due to voter fraud (even before a single vote had been cast). Now, he will kick and scream all the way until the inauguration with unsubstantiated claims that he was cheated and his lawsuits will likely be thrown out quickly by the courts due to lack of evidence.
- Trump’s MAGA followers and his flunkie Republicans (Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, etc.) hoping to become the heir apparent to the MAGA movement for their own political aspirations, will likely cause all sorts of trouble starting now and throughout a potential Biden presidency.
- Expect random acts of violence from the white supremacists and extreme MAGA fanatics who don’t understand how elections work and that the Trump reign is all but over.
Additionally, control of the US Senate may not be decided until January of 2021.
As of this writing, the Senate contest between Georgia incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler(R) and Rev. Raphael Warnock(D) will go to a run off election. Additionally, the race between Georgia incumbent Sen. David Perdue(R) and Jon Ossoff(D) looks like it too will head for a run-off election. Georgia election law requires a run-off election unless a candidate receives at least 50% of the vote. Since both GOP incumbents don’t appear to have met the threshold, control of the US Senate could come down to 2 races in the previously red state of Georgia.
.
If Rev. Warnock and Mr. Ossoff were to win, Vice-President (to be) Kamala Harris could break all ties within the Senate as its president, thereby giving Democrats control. Stay tuned.
So, a lot has happened and a lot will continue to happen. Hang on to your hats and let’s watch this all play out.

Great summary DJ….your entire post. Well done.
Suffice it to say that how all of this has played out has worked my nerves BUT am so happy to be able to say that My faith in the majority of the American people, and most definitely in My home state of Pennsylvania has been Restored. (breathing a sigh of relief)
I know “it ain’t over til it’s over” BUT I feel confident now that Biden will indeed emerge as out next President. And IF the end results prove to be true, Pennsylvania and Georgia (my home away from home) will have been the two states to help “bring it on home.”
