FACEBOOK FOR SAFETY
In light of all the tornados, earthquakes, wildfires and other natural disasters the world has experienced of late, Facebook has come to the rescue with a solution to mark you safe.
Facebook is testing a new Disaster feature (currently in trial for Japan only) which is surprisingly simple to use.
If you’re in an area hit by a natural disaster or even terrorist attack, you’ll have the option to flag yourself on Facebook as safe simply by clicking “Like.” Or, if you’ve managed to get in touch with someone you know in a danger area, you can flag their profile as safe for them. Either way, Facebook will be able to serve as a go-to source to provide peace of mind to loved ones. And since most everyone uses Facebook nowadays, isn’t it the best source to communicate during a disaster when phone lines could be tied up?
