FACEBOOK PICS EXPOSED
If you’re a Facebook user, you should know that all of your photos — both public and private — were exposed yesterday to everyone!
A freakish glitch in some new computer code briefly allowed Facebook users to snoop inside the private photos of other members. The glitch was discovered Tuesday and was part of a new Facebook tool that lets users report offensive content. Clicking on a user’s profile picture, then reporting it to Facebook as containing nudity or other inappropriate content, somehow permitted Facebook to show all photos from that user’s account in an attempt to discover if any others may have been offensive.
“This was the result of one of our recent code pushes and was live for a limited period of time,” Facebook said in a written statement. “Upon discovering the bug, we immediately disabled the system, and will only return functionality once we can confirm the bug has been fixed.”
Ironically, the private photos of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg were also exposed. Now it makes sense why the glitch was addressed so quickly!
