Fake Takedown Of Buttigieg Is A Failure
With more than a year and a half to go before the 2020 presidential election, Republicans have already launched their first foul move of the political season: a fake takedown of Buttigieg.
Politics
Only a few short weeks ago, Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg was nothing more than the openly gay mayor of South Bend, Indiana who presumably didn’t have a chance in hell of winning the Democratic nomination, let alone the presidency.
That was then and this is now.
Since then, the Harvard educated, Rhodes Scholar recipient, and military veteran Buttigieg has turned the political world upside down with his intelligence, underestimated grasp of the issues, and magnetic charisma.
Now, Buttigieg has fought his way into the upper echelon of Democratic contenders and has proven that he should have never been taken for granted.
Well, needless to say, not only do a few Democratic contenders want him out of the race YESTERDAY, but some Republicans are already starting to fear Mayor Pete enough to stir up some good ol’ fashioned GOP trouble.
.
.
Recently, a young Republican man (who has chosen to remain anonymous) went public with information that 2 right-wing conservative operatives approached him with a scheme to engage in a fake takedown of Buttigieg.
“For a week, Wohl had been attempting to find gay Republicans who would levy accusations against Buttigieg.” – The Daily Beast
The anonymous man said Trump-supporters Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl vowed to buy him any house he wanted if he would participate in an embarrassing smear campaign and accuse Buttigieg of raping him. Apparently, their goal was to impede Buttigieg’s growing momentum in the 2020 presidential race.
According to the man, he was instructed to go to the media and say he encountered Buttigieg at a Washington, DC bar on a night that eventually ended with a romantic rendezvous inside the candidate’s hotel room. Next, he was to claim that when he woke up the next morning, he discovered he had been sexually assaulted.
Initially, the young man entertained the idea of getting a free house for a fast and fake takedown of Buttigieg, but he later expressed regret and soon began to have second thoughts. That’s when Burkman and Wohl ditched the uncooperative gay youngster and found a new Republican patsy to do their bidding.
On Monday, Wohl could barely contain his excitement after tweeting “Breaking News” of the fake Buttigieg booty-call.

Unfortunately (for them), Burkman and Wohl’s new fool, identified as 21-year-old Michigan college student Hunter Kelly, also ended up having second thoughts and posted a message to his Facebook timeline later in the day that read: “I WAS NOT SEXUALLY ASSAULTED.”
“It’s important for everyone to know that I was not sexually assaulted and would never falsely accuse anyone,” Kelly wrote after being shamed by other students. “To keep it brief for now, I was approached by a political figure to come to DC to discuss political situations from the standpoint of a gay Republican. When I arrived they discussed Peter Buttigieg and started talking about how they would be working a campaign against him.
“Jack Burkman may have promised me a lavish lifestyle, but at a price that would cost me the two most important things to me: honesty and integrity,” Kelly continued. “Had I gone forward with this despicable scheme they concocted, I would have lost both of those things and became (sic) another one of their useless pawns.”
Interestingly, the Huffpost has since branded Burkman a “conspiracy theorist” and called Wohl a “fringe-right grifter” who “allegedly made terroristic threats against himself while harassing Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).
As for his part, the newly married Pete Buttigieg took the wild accusations in stride.
“It’s not going to throw us,” he said. “Politics can be ugly sometimes but you have to face that when you’re in presidential politics.”
And so, the fake takedown of Buttigieg failed… THIS TIME. Still, one can only wonder what dastardly and dirty trick Republicans will cook up next.
Wow! Trump’s right-wing trolls are in fact so worried about Buttigieg’s candidacy they tried to run their usual STANK-game and AS USUAL got busted..!?!
Lol. You really can’t make this stuff up can you?…..smh!
Okay so as I’ve expressed before – despite Buttigieg being a very intelligent, articulate and politically savvy guy, I feel he has Zero chance of becoming president because he’s gay. I’ve not changed my mind on that.
I do, however, think Buttigieg would be great serving in a Cabinet position of the next Dem president’s administration (whenever the next Dem president is elected).
