If you’re anything like me, you probably have your fair share of horror stories regarding delivery services such as UPS and FexEx. Inexplicably damaged packages, delivery men claiming you weren’t home when you were sitting there for hours all day waiting, or of course packages that arrived excessively late or not at all. But have you ever been able to back up your horror story with proof?
One such customer was finally able to catch the ultimate delivery man from hell, by utilizing video from a hidden security camera that has gone viral across the Internet and given FedEx reason for embarrassment.
The FedEx delivery man was supposed to deliver an expensive computer monitor to the customer’s door step. But noticing a gate around the house that he could just not bother to take a millisecond to open, the FedEx guy threw the package over the fence and into the front yard, similar to the way a trash collector throws garbage onto a city truck. Satisfied that the delivery was complete, the FedEx man drove away. However, when the customer opened the box and found his computer monitor broken in pieces, he was enraged. “The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open,” said the anonymous customer. “All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate. Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken.”
When FedEx was contacted and shown the security camera video, they were horrified that one of their drivers could possibly do such a thing (oh really?). They have since properly identified the driver and promised disciplinary action against him. They have also replaced the broken computer monitor for the customer and, in a raced attempt to ward off any further bad press, issued a written apology and video statement that can be seen by clicking HERE.
