Anyone not living on the dark side of the moon saw this one coming a mile away. It seems the GOP is looking to make a few political points off President Obama’s remarks last week regarding the tense situation between Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Cambridge Police Sergeant James Crowley. Smelling an opportunity, the GOP has offered up Michigan flunky er…Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (who??) to introduce a bill on the House floor demanding a formal apology from President Obama to the Cambridge Police Department. Surprise! Democrats on the Hill are calling this stunt nothing more than a political ploy and a waste of congressional time. One Democratic lawmaker suggested that if Rep. McCotter has such obvious free time on his hands, perhaps he would do better to concern himself with issues directly affecting his state, namely the unstable Michigan job market. OUCH!
