Frederick Douglass
‘Done Amazing Job’
Says Trump
To show just how much he loves “the blacks,” Donald Trump kicked off Black History Month 2017 during a session on Wednesday at The White House. Â So, how did it go? Â Um…not so well.
Current Events
While delivering his prepared remarks, Trump began naming a laundry list of black historical figures — and oddly spoke of them in the present tense.
He lauded the contributions of “Reverend King” to black history, then spoke of abolitionist Frederick Douglass, saying he is “somebody who’s done an amazing job” and whose work is “being recognized more and more.”
Pssst. Hey Donald: Frederick Douglass died in 1895. Although his legacy lives on, his “amazing job” has long since ended. Additionally, since his death was more than 100 years ago, Frederick Douglass has no current work that “is being recognized more and more.”
Oh well… at least Omarosa Manigault (the former Celebrity Apprentice contestant who is now an adviser to Trump) had her heart in the right place when she likely forced him into saying something regarding the commencement of Black History Month.
Too bad she didn’t school him in advance on exactly which black leaders are alive and which are dead. Or, maybe it was payback for Trump having once labeled her an untrustworthy liar.
THANK GOD IT’S
BLACK HISTORY MONTH!
Po fella…smh. His comments were both funny AND sad all at the same time.
And Sean Spicer's babbling wasn't much better when later questioned by the press about his boss's babbling on the matter.
