Gabrielle Giffords’ recovery is going extremely well — so much so that she will be released from a Houston rehabilitation center later this month to pursue an outpatient program instead.
That is the excellent news doctors released over the weekend regarding the Arizona congresswoman, who was shot in January during a botched assassination attempt. Giffords’ family also released the first public photos of Giffords since the January incident. The photos show Giffords with her trademark smile and a seemingly upbeat attitude after months of intensive therapy.
Aside from the indentation on the left side of her skull (where doctors had to remove the bullet and a portion of her skull bone) and her hair noticeably brown instead of blond, Giffords looks well and just like her old self.
