GADHAFI END IS NEAR!
BREAKING NEWS: People are celebrating in the streets of Libya as the end is near for Col. Moammar Gadhafi and his 42 year regime.
As of this writing, rebel forces in Libya have taken control of Tripoli and have captured the sons of the Libyan dictator. Libya’s former deputy ambassador to the United Nations, who defected from Gadhafi’s forces, announced that 90% of Tripoli is now in the hands of the rebels and the Presidential Guard has surrendered. Rumors abound, including reports that Gadhafi has already been captured or has fled the country. But whatever the truth, it is clear that the Gadhafi reign is crumbling to an imminent end.
In a statement late Sunday night, President Obama said: “Tonight, the momentum against the Gadhafi regime has reached a tipping point. Tripoli is slipping from the grasp of a tyrant. The Gadhafi regime is showing signs of collapsing. The people of Libya are showing that the universal pursuit of dignity and freedom is far stronger than the iron fist of a dictator. The surest way for the bloodshed to end is simple: Moammar Gadhafi and his regime need to recognize that their rule has come to an end. A season of conflict must lead to one of peace.”
This is a fluid story that is still evolving. OK WASSUP! will update details of the fall of Gadhafi as it unfolds throughout the day.

If the objective was the end of the regime without any ground forces from us, then it was successful–militarily successful. As too the aftermath, we never do nation building very well, so we should just help the Libyans do that–assisted by us. If the Syrians wanted our help to do the same, I would do it.
