Gay Pride 2018: Love Is Love Is Love!

Spread The Love

Today begins the celebration of Gay Pride 2018 in New York City and in multiple locations across the US.

Gay Rights
Considered “THE BIRTHPLACE OF PRIDE,” the New York City parade and celebration is the centerpiece of NYC pride and will feature colorful floats, music and dancing well into the night, and a host of community events.

The epicenter of NYC Gay Pride 2018 is, of course, the historic Stonewall Inn located in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan.  According to the owners, this is where gay pride all began.

Additionally, there will be parades and parties and all sorts of shenanigans.  However, the clear message of Pride Weekend is that love is love is love — ALWAYS!  It doesn’t matter WHO you love.  It only matters THAT you love!

THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY
PRIDE  WEEKEND!

The truth is, I’ve never been into “Gay Pride” parades or other related events. However, I am very much interested in learning more about the history of Stonewall Inn (and I’m kind of ashamed I haven’t done so long before now).

Thank you DJ for reminding me.

Hmm. Now that is interesting – especially given that, for years, it was touted as being a place of great historical significance particularly in the eyes of gay white men. The fact that it was actually gay white females (never liked the term “lesbian”) who stepped up and save the place {and now it’s a national landmark} says a lot doesn’t it?/rhetorical question.

Thanks again!
