Hmm. Now that is interesting – especially given that, for years, it was touted as being a place of great historical significance particularly in the eyes of gay white men. The fact that it was actually gay white females (never liked the term “lesbian”) who stepped up and save the place {and now it’s a national landmark} says a lot doesn’t it?/rhetorical question.

Truthiz1: In my research, I learned that the Stonewall Inn experienced hard times a dozen or so years ago and was near closing. However, it was the lesbian community that came together and saved it from extinction. Now it is a national landmark. I thought this might interest you!

However, I am very much interested in learning more about the history of Stonewall Inn (and I’m kind of ashamed I haven’t done so long before now).
