George Zimmerman Sets Defense Strategy

Spread The Love

In preparation for his impending trial, George Zimmerman has set one long shot of a defense strategy.

Zimmerman, the self-appointed neighborhood watchman who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in an upscale Sanford, FL community, has given a glimpse of how he intends to fight murder charges against him.  Choosing to avoid Florida’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” law as his defense, Zimmerman is betting the farm that painting Martin as a hostile teen who was out looking for trouble will be his only saving grace.

Zimmerman’s attorney hopes to use various text messages from Martin to portray the teen as a “hoodlum” or “gangsta,” who used marijuana, argued with his parents about skipping classes, and took pictures of himself while blowing smoke rings, giving the middle finger and wearing a gold grill.  Zimmerman’s attorney also hopes to dispel the innocent youthful image of Martin by presenting evidence of the saggy-pants wearing teen bragging about winning a fistfight and about his desire to own a gun.

In his own words, Zimmerman’s attorney says his goal is to show Martin’s demeanor and emotional state at the time of his confrontation with Zimmerman and to “assist the jury in understanding why Trayvon Martin chose to hide then confront George Zimmerman rather than simply going home.”

Martin’s family has called Zimmerman’s planned defense preposterous, and the attorney for Martin’s family, Benjamin Crump, said this type of evidence is “irrelevant,” predicting the information will not be permitted at Zimmerman’s trial.

Mr. BD

This is him trying to pull some BS. I just heard on CNN the judge ruled all that nonsense inadmissable. Trayvon was a average teenager. Of course he got in fights or whatever but that doesn't mean he deserved to be shot and killed. GTFO SMDH
