Hey, America, we’ve got a problem — and her name is Ginni Thomas.

Ginni Thomas is a diehard Donald Trump/MAGA fanatic. What’s wrong with that, you ask? Well, aside from her questionable taste and obvious lack of judgment, she also happens to be the wife of US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, she also partook in the Donald Trump STOP THE STEAL rally that sent members of Congress running for their lives.
The fact that Ginni Thomas is a Trump-loving MAGA sycophant is her business. However, the fact that Ginni Thomas finally admitted 14 months later that she attended and participated in the January 6th Capitol Hill riot is America’s business.
Although it took Mrs. Clarence Thomas more than a year to come forward with the information that she was present at the Capitol on that fateful January afternoon, she has since gone into “damage control” mode by claiming that she “got cold and left the event” before things turned violent. She also (now) wants everyone to know that she had no part in planning the “rally.”
Oh, really??
So then, why all the secrecy???

I don’t think anyone could read today’s piece in the far-right Washington Free Beacon and see it as anything but a desperate attempt by Ginni Thomas to use her media connections to whitewash her activities.
The piece reeks of desperation and damage control by an insurrectionist.

Let’s examine this a bit further.
The far-right conservative activist and noted homophobe took to Facebook to praise the Capitol insurrectionists, writing “LOVE MAGA people!!!!” and “GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU STANDING UP or PRAYING.” She signed a letter in support of the 11 Oath Keepers (who were arrested for seditious conspiracy) saying they “have done nothing wrong.” Additionally, The New York Times reported she co-signed a letter calling for House Republicans to expel Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger from the GOP conference because of their efforts to investigate the insurrection.
“In case this isn’t obvious, Ginni Thomas is not just some random person with conservative political beliefs,” MSNBC columnist Steve Benen said. “She is a power player in far-right politics: Jane Mayer’s recent New Yorker piece described a White House meeting, held in the Roosevelt Room a couple of years ago, in which Thomas ‘pressed Trump to purge his administration of disloyal members of the “deep state,” handing him an enemies list’ that she’d helped compile.
“The same New Yorker article noted that Thomas works directly with political organizations that have had stakes in cases pending at the Supreme Court,” he added. “Justices can decide on their own whether to recuse themselves from cases, and Clarence Thomas has chosen not to bother.”
And, therein lies the problem. Ginni Thomas is acting like some anonymous MAGA activist while she’s sleeping next to a powerful and persuadable Supreme Court justice.
Case in point: when Donald Trump went to the Supreme Court and demanded that they prevent his White House records of January 6th from being investigated by a congressional committee, 99% of the justices agreed that the records should be made available for Congress. Only one lone justice voted to protect Trump and his records from being investigated: Clarence Thomas.
Should Ginni Thomas follow the lead of the other Supreme Court spouses and keep her politics private by disappearing into the background? Should Justice Clarence Thomas recuse himself from any further cases/votes related to the January 6th insurrection due to a direct conflict of interest? Or is the damage already done and time for Justice Thomas to resign from the high court due to his crazed MAGA wife who has very clearly tainted his alleged image of being a nonpartisan justice?

I knew she was a right-wing clown but I had no idea she’s a full blown fascist, up to her neck in the planning and participation of the Jan. 6 riot.
Frankly, I’ve never thought of Clarence Thomas as being fit to serve on the highest court in the land. And after reading DJ’s post, it just confirms my belief.
Clarence Thomas, imo, is a disgrace to his/Our people and to his/Our country. His wife is right-wing MAGA trash and a traitor. I hope she’s prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Ginni Thomas, the controversial wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, says her activities on behalf of Donald Trump and other conservative causes have no bearing on the work of her husband. In an interview with the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative website, she says, that while the couple “share many of the same ideals, principles and aspirations for America…we have our own separate careers, and our own ideas and opinions too.”
In the interview published Monday, she said that while she did attend the Jan. 6 rally to protest President Biden’s election, she left before Donald Trump took the stage at noon, and before rioters broke into the U.S. Capitol.
“I was disappointed and frustrated that there was violence that happened following a peaceful gathering of Trump supporters on the Ellipse,” she told the Free Beacon.
The interview was apparently an effort by Mrs. Thomas to deal with critical articles that have appeared recently in The New York Times and the New Yorker, describing her extensive conservative political activities. That has led some to suggest that her husband, Justice Thomas, should recuse himself from issues in which his wife has played a prominent role. Those range from her activities on behalf of Trump to her speeches condemning the Affordable Care Act.
Critics have maintained that Justice Thomas should recuse himself from participating in cases that touch on issues his wife has publicly spoken about, even campaigned about. In January, for instance, the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s effort to block a congressional subpoena for White House records related to the events surrounding the certification of the 2020 presidential election, and the Jan. 6 riot. The vote was 8-to-1, with Justice Thomas the lone dissenter. In her interview with the Free Beacon, Mrs. Thomas said she and her husband do not discuss Supreme Court cases “until [the court’s] opinion are public –and even then, our discussions have always been very general and limited to public information.”

“Federal recusal law says that any justice ‘shall disqualify’ if their impartiality might reasonably be questioned,” said Gabe Roth of Fix the Court, a group seeking more transparency from Supreme Court justices.
“Here Virginia Thomas attended the rally on the ellipse, she is close to those who have been subpoenaed by the Committee and she is involved in several groups that have cast doubt on the results of the 2020 election,” he said.

I was in a seminar all day and I know I am late. But this topic is too good to pass up. Both Ginny and Clarence Thomas need to go sit down somewhere. Neither one of them is fooling me with trying to act like they are impartial. She is a Trump kook and he is a nut case that never should have been on the court in the first place. I agree with Truth the committee in Congress needs to investigate her and maybe Clarence too because there is no telling what craziness they have been up to behind thee scenes.
