Goldfish Are Destroying The World’s Waterways
If you have a goldfish you no longer want, DO NOT dispose of it in a river, lake, stream, or some other natural waterway.
Current Events
According to environmental authorities, pet owners are disposing of their unwanted goldfish by “returning them to the wild” and releasing them in natural water. However, what they don’t realize is that their cute and tiny fish in a bowl can grow to the size of a football and weigh upwards of 4 pounds.
These fish are gluttonous eaters and consume all the available food sources ahead of other species. Plus, they eat other fish and regularly contaminate our water.
The pet goldfish epidemic appeared further out of control when a 100-pound tropical fish was discovered on the Oregon shore last week. Wildlife officials called it an extremely rare find.
