GOP = ‘PARTY OF NO!’
Last year, Democrats waged a successful PR campaign against Republicans, branding them as the “Party of No!” At every turn, Republicans were staunchly against any and everything Democrats and the president attempted to do, usually without ever offering their own alternative.
At the time, Republicans balked at their new identity and tried to distance themselves from appearing to be negative nelly’s. But recently, it appears Republicans are openly resurfacing as the party that just says NO!
This past week, Sarah Palin welcomed the idea of being known as the “Party of No” and her fellow GOP counterparts seem to be falling directly in line. With the announced retirement of U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, President Obama will soon nominate a replacement. But members of the “Party of No” have played their hand in letting it slip they are already gearing up to oppose the nominee. Which begs the question: How is it possible to oppose someone who hasn’t even been selected, announced, or nominated yet? Hmmm…
Now THAT’S taking “No” to a whole new level. HAPPY FRIDAY!
