U.S. HAITI MISSIONARIES LIED!

Spread The Love

Yesterday, authorities in Haiti charged 10 AMERICAN MISSIONARIES with child kidnapping and criminal association for attempting to take 33 Haitian children out of the country illegally.  But while government officials have clamped down on them legally, media outlets have begun to unravel many of their claims of trying to “help” children as outright lies.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper exposed several untruths last night on his show AC360.  Among them:

1.)  The Missionaries said they were only there to help orphaned children.  Yet many of the children they collected were not orphans at all, but were willingly handed over by parents after the Missionaries made promises of a better life.

2.)  The Missionaries claimed to be a non-profit group set up in the Dominican Republican.  But Dominican officials disputed those claims, saying the group does not legally exist within their borders.

3.)  The Missionaries claimed to have the full permission of the Dominican Republic to transport children across the border and into their country to an orphanage they claimed to operate.  But Dominican officials said they never gave ANY permission to transport Haitian children across borders and into their country, since it would be illegal.

4.)  The Missionaries told parents they could follow the progress of their children via their website.  But when CNN visited the website, it didn’t exist.

Jailed group leader Laura Silsby, who concocted the idea of traveling to Haiti and removing its children, has a troubled history in her past.  Silsby has been the subject of 8 civil lawsuits and 14 unpaid wage claims. The Meridian, Idaho house where she founded her non-profit New Life Children’s Refuge in November was foreclosed upon in December.  And, 14 claims (including two by the same employee) were filed against her company Personal Shopper Inc. for nonpayment of wages between February 2008 and July 2009, according to the Idaho Department of Labor.  Silsby also has no prior experience in running an orphanage, and is said to have presented the idea to her church members, many of whom blindly followed Silsby to Haiti on what appeared to be a mission of good will.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it was “unfortunate” that “this group of Americans took matters into their own hands” by trying to take the children across the border without proper documentation.  “We are engaged in discussions with the Haitian government and looking for the best way forward on this.”  WATCH:

Okay so umm…At the very least Silsby is a Liar with a very problematic history, who apparently came up with a scheme to go to Haiti, gather up a bunch of Haitian children to take them Lord-knows-WHERE?_to do Lord-knows-WHAT? with them. The truth is, the more that’s revealed about this woman, the more she’s beginning to look like a Headcase AND a criminal to me_smh. Well, we shall see.And WHAT, pray tell, is up with the members of that church who followed her? Are they simply NOT too bright?!

BD

So it looks like this Silsby lady is the ring leader. If nobody else goes, she has to go to jail.
