There’s a mysterious new illness known as ‘Havana Syndrome’ affecting US military and intelligence personnel across the globe — and now, it appears to have landed on the steps of The White House.

Yes, an inexplicable event of sensory experiences and physical symptoms dubbed Havana Syndrome has caused an unexpected illness among more than 100 US diplomats, spies, and military troops. Now, it has affected at least 2 high-level officials on the National Security Council and appears to have made its way to the pinnacle of the US government at the gates of The White House.
According to CNN, an incident of Havana Syndrome occurred after the 2020 election just as an NSC official was attempting to pass through an unstaffed gate at The White House. That person immediately began to suffer from headaches and sleeplessness. Then, a 2nd official was struck after passing through a gate on the White House grounds and experienced symptoms that were severe enough to seek medical attention.
According to The New York Times, 3 CIA officers have reported serious symptoms dating back to December of 2020, following overseas assignments. The symptoms were severe enough to require medical treatment at the Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington.
Officials are now admitting that they’ve known of this strange phenomenon for at least 5 years, as US diplomats and other government employees in Cuba, Russia, China, and elsewhere have reported abrupt episodes that led to chronic headaches, brain injuries, sudden vertigo, headaches, and head pressure sometimes accompanying by a “piercing directional noise.” Interestingly, some officials have reported being able to immediately escape the symptoms by simply moving to another room. However, stepping back into their original position only caused the symptoms to instantly return.
So, what exactly is going on here? Is some foreign adversary using an unknown, high-powered technological weapon against us??
The National Security Agency went public with a memo back in 2014 acknowledging that it has had intelligence since 2012 pointing to the possible existence of “a high-powered microwave system weapon … designed to bathe a target’s living quarters in microwaves, causing numerous physical effects, including a damaged nervous system.” However, the memo did not definitively confirm which country may have developed it.
The Biden administration has since ramped up its efforts to “identify the cause of these incidents, determine attribution, increase collection efforts, and prevent” what the intelligence community calls “anomalous health incidents,” a spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said on Monday. The official added that the government has already identified a blood test that may indicate exposure.
“How do you counter something you don’t know is coming?” the intelligence official said.
Several intelligence officials tracking Havana Syndrome believe that if a foreign adversary is using some sort of directed energy weapon against the US, the intent may not be to harass or maim American personnel but to instead collect information from their cell phones.
“I don’t know if they stumbled across a collection mechanism that allows it to be used as a weapon system or if they are just trying to collect (data from cell phones) and it (causes) adverse side effects,” an official said. “From what I read, the jury’s still out on what exactly people thought it was.”
