Here we go again. Another high-flying object was spotted flying over the United States.
Current Events :
Last week, President Biden ordered the shootdown of a Chinese spy balloon that mysteriously hovered over sensitive nuclear sites in the US. Now, less than a week later, the military has been forced to destroy yet another high-flying object.
On Friday, the Pentagon announced that it received orders from the president to shoot down an unidentified object flying over frozen waters near Alaska. Just like last week, the object was shot down by an F-22 fighter jet using a Sidewinder air-to-air missile.
According to The New York Times, the high-flying object was about the size of a small car and was traveling at an altitude that made it a potential threat to civilian aircraft. The danger to civilians combined with the unknown origins of the object prompted Mr. Biden to act swiftly and shoot it out of the sky before it could reach the mainland US.
Although officials initially believed the object was a balloon, one Defense Department official said the object broke into pieces when it hit the frozen sea — an unexpected outcome that added to the mystery of whether it was indeed a balloon, a drone, or something else.
During a news conference on Friday, White House spokesman John F. Kirby said Mr. Biden ordered the unidentified object downed “out of an abundance of caution.”
Many are praising President Biden for acting swiftly with this floating “UFO.” This comes after he received negative commentary for waiting several days before shooting down the Chinese spy balloon, which floated across the entire US before being taken down over the Atlantic Ocean.
However, his spokesman was quick to point out that because the Chinese spy balloon was the size of 3 city buses, having objects the size of huge vehicles raining down from the sky would have been catastrophic.
In a mysterious twist of fate, a 2nd object was discovered flying over Montana on Friday. Still, another was discovered on Sunday above Lake Huron. Both immediately shot down.
CANADA’S HIGH-FLYING OBJECT
On Saturday, Canada was visited by a mysterious flying object of its own.
According to CNN, the North American Aerospace Defense Command detected “a high altitude airborne object” over northern Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered it immediately shot down.
“I ordered the take down of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace. @NORADCommand shot down the object over the Yukon. Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled, and a U.S. F-22 successfully fired at the object,” Trudeau said via Twitter.
The Canadian object became one of 4 in less than a week to be discovered flying over the North American continent.
Now, military officials from the US and Canada are charged with figuring out what the high-flying objects were, where they came from, and why they were deployed.
Still, the general public is 100% correct to wonder exactly what is going on here.

Another high-flying object over the US.
Good morning all! Re: ‘China claims more than 10 U.S. balloons flew in its airspace’ BEIJING (AP) — China on Monday said more than 10 U.S. high-altitude balloons have flown in its airspace during the past year without its permission, following Washington’s accusation that Beijing operates a fleet of surveillance balloons around the world. The Chinese allegation comes after the U.S. shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon that had crossed from Alaska to South Carolina, sparking a new crisis in bilateral relations that have spiraled to their lowest level in decades. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin gave no details about the alleged U.S. balloons, how they had been dealt with or whether they had government or military links. “It is also common for U.S. balloons to illegally enter the airspace of other countries,” Wang said at a daily briefing. “Since last year, U.S. high-altitude balloons have illegally flown… Read more »
