There’s a rumor going around Washington that we could see the name Hillary Clinton once again on the ballot in the 2012 election — except not in the way you might think. Hillary Clinton for Vice-President??
According to the rumor mill, Dems are already thinking ahead for 2012 and believe if Hillary replaces Joe Biden as VP for the much ballyhooed OBAMA – CLINTON ticket discussed last year, it would be a slam dunk re-election for President Obama. Republicans would be hard pressed with their current crop of Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and others to beat a ticket with Hillary’s name on it, particularly since her former supporters would likely pull out all stops to assure a win. Party officials believe Vice-President Biden would be too old to run for President himself in 2016. So, moving Biden to the State Dept. or some diplomatic post, then elevating Hillary to the #2 spot, would put her directly in line for the presidency herself once Mr. Obama’s term ends. Obama administration officials believe it would be a nice reward for her work at the State Department and have already put aside their former concerns that (former President) Bill would get in the way if Hillary were VP.
So, what do you think of a potential OBAMA – CLINTON ticket in 2012?
