HOTELS BY THE HOUR?
When you think of renting a hotel room by the hour, you usually think of some seedy sexcapade establishment by the airport for a quick romp in the hay. But that’s all about to change.
Dayuse.com has discovered that not all travelers need a hotel for the entire day, so they’ve devised a way to keep hotels full — and affordable — with eager travelers.
This newfangled lodging service offers rooms to rent for just a few hours at a time, in boutique hotels based on their design, location and quality of service. Originally started in Paris in 2010, Dayuse now offers New York bound travelers their choice of 8 different hotels, all offering time slots between 3 and 7 hours.
Like most travel-related websites, Dayuse offers discounted deals, typically 30-70% cheaper than a full night’s stay. For example, a $300 or $400 a night room in New York for tomorrow could go for around $159 for just a few hours. They even have an iPhone app to make the entire process convenient.
So if you’re traveling light to Paris, New York, London, Rome, or a host of other major cities around the world and you’re in need of a room just to sleep and shower, check them out. You’ll end up saving a bundle!
