Evidently, Ryan' is standing firm thus far BD. The man really wants NO parts of the job.

Of course, he may yield to pressure over the weekend. But right now I'm not so sure he's going to cave given the ugly reality of the situation.

Ha good post Truth. I just took lunch break and came to see Ok wassup and saw you beat m to it about Ryan. I bet a group of Repubs got to him and begged him to reconsider being speaker because they have no one. They are a ship without a captain right now and it's funny. But like you said Ryan won't be the answer because the Repubs are so many broken pieces all in one theres now way he can please all the people all the time. Plus once he starts having to compromise with Obama to get things done they're just going to look at him like Boehner anyway. So it's damned if you do damned if you don't. If he wants to run for president one day he should probably stay out of it but I don't know how that can happen now. I can't wait to see how this all turns out.

THIS is the end result of 50 years of the GOP's Southern strategy combined with extreme right-wing ignorance, idiocy and nihilism (since at least 9/11) ALL rolled into one. A highly toxic stew.

The GOP is without a leader now. The patients are running the asylum. And the notion that Paul Ryan will be able to calm the treacherous waters within his own party is, IMO, pure nonsense. .

IF Ryan does throw his hat in the ring, he will do so knowing full well that eventually, even He, will be eaten alive by the ultra-right "Kamikaze" members (aka the so-called "The Freedom Caucus") of his own party.

House Speaker John Boehner has canceled his planned Thursday night appearance on "The Tonight Show" hosted by Jimmy Fallon, NBC has confirmed.

Boehner's appearance on the show was a last-minute addition announced on Wednesday. It was a big get for the late night show that's been getting deeper into politics. But then the news broke mid-day Thursday that Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was dropping out of the race for speaker, sending the House GOP into chaos, and tossing Boehner's "Tonight Show" plans out the window. [….]

But seriously, if Paul Ryan absolutely refuses to throw his hat in the ring who else is there? That party is so jacked up…smh. Boehner may have no choice but to to postpone his retirement awhile longer(?)
