JON & KATE PLUS 8 were the darlings of reality television. The wholesome, inter-racial family with a boatload of kids and soccer-mom as a parent seemed made for TV. But when the couple split and went separate ways on national TV — then started feuding — then thousands of dollars went missing, things suddenly weren’t so wholesome in TV-land. In case you haven’t been closely following this story, here’s a quick recap of what happened next:
Jon took $180,000. from the couple’s joint bank account, but was ordered by a judge to return it immediately; Once he split from Kate and was back on the dating scene, Jon quickly grew tired of the “reality” life and stopped playing nice for the TV cameras, forcing TLC to fire him from the show; Soon the network decided to go forward with KATE PLUS 8 minus Jon, which meant those tasty television checks Jon had been getting were done; Unhappy not being able to play “reindeer games” Jon attempted to pull a fast one by pulling his kids off the show, thereby shutting production down; TLC stepped in pulling a fast one of their own, by reminding Jon of a little thing he signed called a CONTRACT, which prevents him from his latest move; Now the network tells Jon “I’ll See You In Court” as they intend to sue him for breach of contract so as to continue production of the show. WHEW!
Is anyone else already tired of the whole “Jon and Kate” mess and ready for their 15 minutes of fame to have been over an hour and a half ago?
