iPHONE CONSPIRACY THEORY
First, there were reports of the lost iPhone prototype from last year that prompted an embarrassed Chinese worker to commit suicide in 2009. Then there was the lost iPhone prototype found in March in a California bar and widely reported on by the tech website Gizmodo.com. But now comes word of yet another fourth-generation iPhone prototype popping up in Vietnam this week, complete with detailed video and tear down photos that show the ins and outs of the hardware. Huh???
One mistake from a company which prides itself on near mafia-like techniques to insure its privacy is rare, but still excusable. A second mistake of losing a prototype is worrisome. But a third loss is enough to make you go “Hmmmm…”
It appears Apple really needs to tighten its already tight reigns at the Cupertino headquarters, so that mistakes like this NEVER happen, let alone back to back. Or (and here’s one for the conspiracy theorists) could it be that Apple is just stringing us all along, by purposely “leaking” the phone to drum up support for the widely anticipated 4G upgrade of one of the most innovative inventions of the 21st Century? For as good as they are at controlling their own image, hey, it’s possible.
In the meantime, here’s video proof of the lost iPhone in Vietnam, which makes you wonder: exactly how many of those things does Apple have floating around in the wild?
