Is Mother of Boston Bombers Connected?
Is the mother of Boston Marathon bombing suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev connected to their accused act of terrorism? Her past actions and recent words suggest it could be possible.
Zubeidat Tsarnaev has been making foolish claims and accusations that have not been at all helpful to her credibility or that of her sons. First, she adamantly denied that her sons could possibly be responsible for the bombings at the Boston Marathon. Then she claimed that the bombing was a “staged play,” complete with actors portraying bombing victims and red paint as fake blood.
Now, it has come to light that she may be the link to her son’s terrorist connections.
In 2011, Russian authorities secretly recorded a telephone conversation between Zubeidat and her now deceased son, Tamerlan. In the conversation, Zubeidat was heard discussing jihad with Tamerlan and encouraging him to go to Palestine.
Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, who now lives in Dagestan, has vehemently denied that she or her sons were involved in terrorism. In fact, she has turned the tables and accused American authorities of attempting to frame her sons. Ironically, Zubeidat once lived in the United States, but fled after she was charged with shoplifting. Her plan to return to the U.S. to claim the body of her deceased son was halted, once she realized she’d be arrested for her previous crime upon arrival.
“They already are talking about that we are terrorists, I am terrorist,” she said in a recent interview with The Associated Press. “They already want me, him (Tamerlan) and all of us to look like terrorists.”
Ruslan Tsarni, an uncle of the Tsarnaev brothers and Zubeidat’s former brother-in-law, says he believes she had a “big-time influence” on her older son to end his love for boxing and embraced his Muslim faith. Her influence could have led him to the radical jihadists who likely convinced him and taught him how to bomb Boston.
“It’s all lies and hypocrisy,” Zubeidat said. “I’m sick and tired of all this nonsense that they make up about me and my children. People know me as a regular person, and I’ve never been mixed up in any criminal intentions, especially any linked to terrorism.”
There’s something most unsettling about Zubeidat Tsarnaeva. Is she just a grieving mother mourning the death of a son, or could she be the connection between her Americanized sons and their turn to terrorism?
Based on what's been reported thus far it certainly appears that this woman is an extremist and has some serious *issues* to say the least. It's also very possible that she , more than anyone else, is responsible for "radicalizing" her oldest son and he then went on to influenced his younger brother.
Extremists of any ilk can be very dangerous people.
