If its so sacred why are we singing it at a football game? And if nobody wants a soulful performance of it why do they keep asking soul performers to sing it?.

I agree with you DJ I think its over done. Theres no need to sing it at a football game. Plus when you ask a famous singer to sing it, they're obviously going to do it their way. If people have a problem with that, maybe they should ask that it not be sung at games at all.

I couldn't agree with you more DJ. I have never understood it?!

But then, when I stop to consider that American history books are filled will fabricated stories pushing phony patriotism (the most recent example being the lies peddled by the Bush/Cheney regime to justify an all out illegal and unjust WAR against Iraq), I'd say singing the National Anthem at sporting events is among the least harmful acts of phony patriotism.
