Domestic terrorism has reared its ugly head once again in America. First there was the bombing blast in Boston. Then there were the multiple bombs found around Boston, including one at the JFK Library. Now, Washington, DC has made the list.
A letter that preliminarily tested positive for containing the deadly poison Ricin, was sent to the office of Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and the White House. The letter contained the following message:
“To see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance…I am KC and I approve this message.”

Police arrested 45-year-old Paul Kevin Curtis of Corinth, MS in connection with the letters, which carried a postmark of Memphis, TN. Curtis goes by the name “KC” and is an Elvis impersonator in his area.
The letters never reached Sen. Wicker or the White House. Since the Anthrax mailings following the attacks of 9/11, all mail addressed to members of congress and the White House gets sent to an off-site sorting facility for a rigorous series of security screenings. It was there that the deadly mail was found.
Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) also reported receiving a suspicious looking package yesterday. This came as parts of Congress were evacuated after reports of other suspicious packages in the Hart and Russell buildings, which houses senate offices.
With the Boston bombings, the Ricin-laced letter and several suspicious packages sent to various members of congress this week, are we returning to a domestic state of discord and fear in America? Should we start paying closer attention and being more concerned?
