At least one portion of the bizarre Jackson family feud has been settled.
Katherine Jackson has agreed to share guardianship of Michael Jackson’s 3 children with her grandson, TJ Jackson, under an agreement that is supported by Michael’s oldest son, Prince.
TJ Jackson, the 34-year-old son of Tito Jackson, will “take joint legal responsibility for certain day-to-day duties such as the management of household personnel, including security,” attorney Perry Sanders said Friday. This should be a huge stress relief for the Jackson family matriarch, who is now in her 80’s.
“Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael’s children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael’s children,” Sanders said.
TJ Jackson has been close to the children during most of their lives and has previously been left in charge of them when Katherine Jackson was away. “Mrs. Jackson and TJ have often shared responsibilities of raising the children since Michael Jackson’s tragic passing,” Sanders added.
Although the guardianship issue seems resolved, the broken factions among the Jackson siblings wanting to control Michael’s enormous and lucrative estate is not. Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie and Janet Jackson are all still proceeding with their plans to replace the current executors of Michael’s estate with themselves. Tito, Jackie, Marlon and LeToya Jackson are all removed from the plan, with LeToya expressing how embarrassed she has been to see her family fighting publicly.
As I expressed last week, I don't feel any of these people are actually fit to raise MJ's kids. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be ANY good option. If these 3 kids grow up to be mentally and emotionally *sound* it'll be a miracle. 🙁
