Janet Jackson: MAGA Or Misinformed?
Is singer Janet Jackson a covert member of Donald Trump’s MAGA movement — or just horrifically misinformed?
Current Events :
Over the weekend, Janet Jackson, who is arguably the 2nd most famous member of the Jackson Family next to her brother, the late Michael Jackson, blindsided the world with a sea of waves that has since turned into a tsunami.
Jackson was participating in an interview with the British publication The Guardian when she was asked her thoughts about the possibility of America getting its first Black female president if Kamala Harris is elected.
Jackson immediately went off the rails and opted to discuss in detail what she’d been “told” about Kamala Harris and her racial background — despite the information being completely unsubstantiated.
“Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not Black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian,” Jackson asserted. When the interviewer informed her that Vice President Harris is biracial and is indeed Black and Indian, Jackson pushed back and boldly claimed that the presidential nominee’s father is neither.
“Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days,” she said. “I was told that they discovered her father was white.”
Sadly, Jackson’s comments echoed those of Donald Trump and members of the MAGA movement who’ve promoted the fake theory that Kamala Harris only “turned Black” for political gain.
“She was only promoting Indian heritage,” Trump said during an interview at the National Association of Black Journalists convention over the summer. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black…Is she Indian or is she Black?’”
Despite what Donald Trump said and what Janet Jackson allegedly “heard,” the fact is that the father of Kamala Harris is indeed of Jamaican descent. He immigrated to the US to pursue a PhD in economics and then married Kalama’s mother, who was of Indian descent.
For most of the weekend, social media went berserk over Jackson’s comments, with some saying her pronounced racial ignorance was enough to cancel the famed singer.
“Janet Jackson sounded an absolute fool in that interview and I am very disappointed.”
“Janet Jackson is one of the most influential people in music history. It was simply irresponsible of her to repeat something she ‘heard’ regarding the very thing that they use against Kamala! Her own race. We are less than 50 days away from the election. We gotta talk smarter!”
“foolish and super ignorant.”
“This whole Janet Jackson thing just goes to show you how out of touch some celebrities are. I’ve always loved her but repeating lies!? Smh. If you don’t know about a subject, then don’t speak on it… especially with your platform. Educate yourself, please!”
Oh, but wait. This story has another twist.
On Sunday, Variety reported that a rep for Jackson issued a public apology on behalf of the artist, in an effort to squelch the growing distaste and negative sentiment toward her.
The statement read:
“Janet Jackson would like to clarify her recent comments. She recognizes that her statements regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity were based on misinformation. Janet respects Harris’ dual heritage as both Black and Indian and apologizes for any confusion caused. She values the diversity Harris represents and understands the importance of celebrating that in today’s society. Janet remains committed to promoting unity and understanding.”
Not long thereafter, that same rep, who identified himself as Mo Elmasri and as Jackson’s manager, put out another statement to announce he had just been fired.
“I no longer work for her. I was fired by Janet and Randy [Janet’s brother], after attempts to improve her image in front of public opinion and her fans, and this is something I do not deserve,” Mo Elmasri said in a statement.
“That’s all I can say. All support to Kamala Harris,” he concluded.
Hold on. There’s still more.
Soon thereafter, Ms. Jackson herself issued a statement to clarify that Mo Elmasri was not her manager and was not authorized to speak on her behalf. She said her brother, Randy, has been her manager for many years.
Interestingly, this information conflicts with a report from Deadline that does, in fact, list Elmasri as Jackson’s manager on her own IMDB page as well as the Celebrity Service industry site. His status as her manager was last verified on Sept. 22, 2024.
So, what gives?
Is Janet Jackson a secret MAGA sycophant who’s been hiding in plain sight — or is she merely out of touch and horrifically uninformed? Did Elmasri get fired because he attempted to clean up a PR mess from the singer that perhaps she didn’t want cleaned up at all? Or, is it true that he is not now nor has ever been her manager and therefore not eligible to act as her spokesman?
Will Black America cancel Janet Jackson for publicly turning on another Black female with ignorant hearsay instigated by Donald Trump?

Is Janet Jackson MAGA, stupid, or both?
USA Today: Whoopi Goldberg is offering a mea culpa for her friend Janet Jackson after the pop icon stirred controversy with her recent remarks on Vice President Kamala Harris. During an interview with The Guardian published Saturday, Jackson cast doubt on Harris’ biracial identity when asked about the prospect of the U.S. having its “first female Black president,” alleging that Harris is not Black. “Sometimes people get it wrong and they’re wrong! They made a mistake; they were wrong. It happens,” Goldberg said, adding that Jackson is not a “political animal.” “Anybody who says it doesn’t happen to every one of us, multiracial or not, we all do it. So OK, a little grace for the girl. A little grace for the girl,” Goldberg said. However, Goldberg’s co-host, political commentator Ana Navarro, wasn’t so quick to let bygones be bygones. “Look, I think Janet Jackson — like every other American,… Read more »
