Jimmy Kimmel Could
Kill GOP Health Plans
After an embarrassing defeat in his initial attempt to kill Obamacare, Donald Trump is pressing Republicans in congress to vote again today. However, late night television host Jimmy Kimmel could give Trump and the GOP yet another devastating loss.

The House will once again attempt to provide Donald Trump with a significant legislative victory by voting today to repeal and replace Obamacare. This time, top Republicans are feeling confident.
“We will be voting on the health care votes tomorrow. Because we have enough votes. It’ll pass. It’s a good bill,” Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California told reporters on Wednesday. “We’re gonna pass it. We’re gonna pass it. Let’s be optimistic about life!” a giddy McCarthy added.
However, an 11th-hour effort from an unlikely source could once again hand Republicans yet another defeat.
During an emotional Monday night monologue, ABC late night host Jimmy Kimmel begged the Republican politicians in Washington to leave Obamacare alone.
Kimmel began his unexpected remarks by telling the audience that his wife gave birth to a baby boy on April 21st. A nurse noticed a murmur in his heart, and tests soon showed there wasn’t enough oxygen in the baby’s blood. An x-ray later revealed that although his lungs were fine, his heart wasn’t.
Kimmel described a “terrifying” scene as worried-looking doctors diagnosed the baby with tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia, a condition in which there’s a hole between the heart’s chambers, cutting off normal blood flow. Fortunately, an emergency, 3-hour operation was a success.

After thanking his family, friends, and fans, Jimmy Kimmel then segued into a pitch supporting health-care access. He denounced Donald Trump’s proposed cuts to the National Institutes of Health. He also reminded viewers of a pre-Obamacare America, where people like his son (those with pre-existing conditions) would have been denied health insurance.
“If your parents didn’t have medical insurance” for sick children, Kimmel said, “you might not live long enough to even get denied because of a pre-existing condition.”
He added: “No parent should ever have to decide if they can afford to save their child’s life.”
The television moment registered heavily with late-night viewers, who distrust Donald Trump and the GOP in their attempts to dismantle former President Obama’s signature health care initiative. Not surprisingly, it also received a Twitter shout-out from Mr. Obama himself.
Interestingly, some Democrats are secretly hoping that Republicans are successful in repealing Obamacare today, since a repeal vote would almost assuredly guarantee a big win for Democrats in the midterm election and remove the GOP from power.
Still, if today’s congressional vote fails, proponents of Obamacare just might have Jimmy Kimmel to thank for saving health care for all!

Anybody hear anything yet about the vote today? I have been too busy to know what's up.
