Current Events –
Joe Biden Awarded
Presidential Medal Of Freedom

On Thursday, President Barack Obama took the opportunity to bestow the honor of the Presidential Medal of Freedom for the final time. This time, however, the recipient was completely caught by surprise.

Current Events
Vice-President Joe Biden became visibly emotional when he discovered that Mr. Obama’s final gathering to present the prestigious presidential award was actually for him.

Joe Biden“For your faith in your fellow Americans, for your love of country and for your lifetime of service that will endure through the generations…” Mr. Obama said during the ceremony of the man he called his “brother.”

“For my final time as President, I am pleased to award our nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”

Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Once he was finally able to contain his emotions, Vice-President Biden accepted the award but made clear he did not deserve it.

“This honor is not only well beyond what I deserve, but it’s a reflection of the extent and generosity of your spirit,” Mr. Biden said. “I don’t deserve this but I know it came from the president’s heart.”

If you missed it live, grab a box of tissues and take a look at the emotion-filled moment.

THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY!

I watched the ceremony. It was incredibly moving. The dignity. The grace. The humility. The loyalty

Two fine men of *Extraordinary* stuff.

Leaders who genuinely make me proud to be an American.

Truly, I will miss them both.
