Joe Biden Speech Trounces Trump!
If you’ve been wondering when the Democrats were going to fight back following Donald Trump’s recent string of lies and fearmongering, you need to look no further than Monday’s Joe Biden speech from Pennsylvania.
Politics
Since last week’s Republican National Convention, Donald Trump has attempted to reinvigorate his sagging poll numbers by pulling from the pages of his old predictable playbook. He’s thrown gasoline on the protests in Kenosha and Portland in order to create a greater racial divide and to make Americans forget all about his handing of the COVID-19 crisis. Additionally, he’s manufactured lies about Joe Biden that couldn’t have been further from the truth.
Well, Joe Biden has been listening and is having NONE of it. From the moment he approached the podium in Pittsburgh, it was clear that fightin’ Joe had taken off the gloves and was prepared to punch.
The Joe Biden speech began with him explaining how Donald Trump will “do anything to hold onto political power.”
“He may believe mouthing the words law and order makes him strong, but his failure to call on his own supporters to stop acting as an armed militia in this country shows you how weak he is.”
Next, the Joe Biden speech made the case that Trump is poison for America.
“Donald Trump has been a toxic presence in our nation for four years,” Biden said. “Will we rid ourselves of this toxin? Or will we make it a permanent part of our nation’s character?”
He then reminded voters that the current violence is happening on Donald Trump’s watch and not under a future Biden presidency that hasn’t happened yet.
“He keeps telling you if only he was president it wouldn’t happen. He keeps telling us if he was president you would feel safe. Well — he is president. And it is happening. And it’s getting worse. And we know why. Because Donald Trump adds fuel to every fire.
.
“Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is reelected?” he continued. “We need justice in America. And we need safety in America. We are facing multiple crises – crises that, under Donald Trump, keep multiplying.”
.
I urge President Trump to join me in saying that while peaceful protest is an important right — violence is wrong. Period.
If he can’t say that, then he is unfit to be President. https://t.co/W4sjpF0Z3V

Biden then began jabbing at Trump for the many lies he has levied against him.
“I want to be very clear about all of this: Rioting is not protesting. Looting is not protesting. Setting fires is not protesting. None of this is protesting. It’s lawlessness, plain and simple. And those who do it should be prosecuted,” Biden said regarding Trump’s erroneous claims that he supports conflict on the streets. “Violence will not bring change, it will only bring destruction. It’s wrong in every way.”

He tackled fracking.
“I am not banning fracking,” Biden said. “Let me say that again: I am not banning fracking, no matter how many times Donald Trump lies about me.”
Biden also tackled the claim that he is a “Trojan Horse” and would become a radical socialist once elected.
“You know me. You know my heart, and you know my story, my family’s story. Ask yourself: Do I look to you like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters? Really?”

On Monday afternoon, Donald Trump called a hastily-arranged press conference to respond to the Joe Biden speech.
“The violent rioters share Biden’s same talking points, and they share his same agenda for our nation. And even his strange speech today that he made in Pittsburgh, he didn’t mention the fact, and he didn’t mention the far left. He didn’t mention the far left, or, from what I saw, I don’t believe he mentioned the word ‘Antifa,’” Trump barked. “Antifa is a criminal organization, and he didn’t mention Antifa thugs, but mostly seemed to blame the police and law enforcement.”
Regrettably, Trump’s attempt to paint a version of Joe Biden as a radical socialist who hides in his basement, is afraid to campaign against him, and is in deep cognitive decline doesn’t appear to be resonating with voters. Further, most Americans have taken note that Donald Trump has never once condemned the shooting of Jacob Blake at the hands of police, or the murder of 2 peaceful protestors by 17-year-old White Trump supporter Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha. Instead, Trump has referred to Rittenhouse and his radical right MAGA followers who have stirred trouble in the streets as “Great Patriots.”
.
Tonight, President Trump declined to rebuke violence.
He wouldn’t even repudiate one of his supporters who is charged with murder.
He is too weak, too scared of the hatred he has stirred to put an end to it.

Later today, Joe and Jill Biden will kick off what the campaign is calling a “back-to-school” combination of virtual and in-person events in 8 states — Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Florida, Nevada, Minnesota, Arizona, and Pennsylvania — states that are all 2020 election battlegrounds.
For his part, Donald Trump will defy local officials and make an appearance in Kenosha, Wisconsin to appear “strong” and make the case that he is the “Law and Order” president. Odds are great that Trump’s presence will only continue to make matters worse.
