JOE SAYS ‘NO GO’
Joseph Kennedy II, eldest son of Robert F. Kennedy and nephew to the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, put all speculation to rest when he announced Monday he would NOT seek the senate seat held by his Uncle Teddy for nearly 50 years. Saying although he cares deeply about decent housing, fair wages and health care, he added, “The best way for me to contribute to those causes is by continuing my work at Citizens Energy Corp.” Many had said they simply would not run if ANY member of the Kennedy family wanted to. But with the widow Vicki Kennedy already saying she was uninterested in replacing her husband in the Senate, this opens the floodgates to a plethora of suitors in what will surely become open season for the Democratically held Kennedy seat after nearly 50 years.
