John McCain Battling Brain Cancer
- Well wishes flood in from Democrats and Republicans
.
John McCain is in for the fight of his life.
Current Events
Senator John McCain of Arizona is a known fighter. He fought for his survival as a former Navy pilot who was captured and held as a prisoner during the Vietnam War. He fought a battle against melanoma. He fought a tough fight as the 2008 Republican presidential nominee against popular political newcomer Barack Obama. Now, he’s been called to the boxing ring for one more match. This time, his opponent is brain cancer.
On Wednesday, the senator’s office released a statement from the Mayo Clinic confirming his diagnosis. The 80-year-old John McCain missed a crucial senate vote to repeal Obamacare because he was undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot above his left eye. It was during that procedure that doctors discovered the brain cancer.
According to the Mayo Clinic physicians, Sen. McCain was diagnosed with a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma, which was associated with his blood clot. His condition is known to cause fogginess and may have been responsible for his bizarre questioning of former FBI Director James Comey during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing. Available treatment options include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. The median survival term is approximately 16 months.
Coincidentally, it is the same cancer the late Sen. Ted Kennedy was up against.

Yes. Thank you DJ.
Setting politics aside, John McCain is an honorable man who (as DJ highlighted) put his life on the line in service to his country during the Vietnam War. Indeed he has “fought and won many battles against near impossible odds. ” John McCain is a true American patriot and a real *Alpha.*
I wish him God-speed to a full recovery.
