JON HUNTSMAN QUITS!

Spread The Love

Another one bites the dust!

Jon Huntsman has finally come to his senses and accepted reality, with the decision to drop out of the Republican race for the presidency.  He will make a formal announcement today in Myrtle Beach, SC and endorse his fellow Mormon, Mitt Romney.

Despite being perhaps the most intelligent candidate with the best grasp of the issues, Huntsman’s campaign never took off. Conservative Republicans seemingly mistrusted him for working for President Obama as U.S. ambassador to China and paid him back by giving him the GOP cold shoulder. Coming in a distant 3rd place in New Hampshire after spending a great amount of resources there, his resignation from the race was inevitable.

According to a campaign official, Huntsman is “proud of the race he ran,” but ultimately, “didn’t want to stand in the way of the person with the best chance to beat President Obama.”

With Huntsman out of the race, the remaining Republican candidates stand at 4 and include Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and front runner Mitt Romney.

Not surprised about this. He should have quit a long time ago.
