Juneteenth 2023: A Day Of Celebration!
Communities of all races all across America will celebrate Juneteenth 2023 today as an official holiday.
Current Events :
Juneteenth (combining the words “June” and “nineteenth”) is the date commemorating the actual end of slavery in the United States — when the last slaves in America (in Galveston, TX) were officially freed 2 1/2 years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is now recognized as an official work holiday in America, which means you have an opportunity to commemorate the day in a personal way.
