Kamala’s Closing Argument At The Ellipse
On Tuesday with less than a week to go before the 2024 presidential election, Vice President Harris took over the Washington, DC Ellipse to deliver Kamala’s Closing Argument.
Politics :
In case you may have forgotten, the Ellipse directly in front of The White House is the same site Donald Trump used on Jan. 6, 2021, to ignite a violent mob to attack the US Capitol after he lost the 2020 election. So, it was only fitting that the site was positively used this election season to present Kamala’s Closing Argument.
The gathered crowd of Harris/Walz supporters — estimated by The Wall Street Journal to be around 75,000 — was arguably much larger than Trump’s insurrection crowd from 2021. It was also devoid of all negativity and divisiveness, as those gathered danced, waved American flags, and cheered — all without a single attendee attempting to storm the Capitol.
After myriad speakers covered such topics as small business and women’s health, Vice President Harris took the stage with a glowing White House as the backdrop behind her.
“In less than 90 days, either Donald Trump or I will be in the Oval Office,” Ms. Harris said while pointing to presidential mansion behind her. “On Day 1, if elected, Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list. When elected, I will walk in with a to-do list.”
She then took a moment to remind Americans just who is running for president on the GOP ticket.
“We know who Donald Trump is. He is the person who stood at this very spot nearly four years ago and sent an armed mob to the United States Capitol to overturn the will of the people in a free and fair election that he knew he lost,” she told the crowd.
“Americans died as a result of that attack. 140 law enforcement officers were injured. And while Donald Trump sat in the White House watching, as the violence unfolded on television, he was told by staff that the mob wanted to kill his own vice president. Donald Trump responded with two words: ‘So what?’
“He says one of his highest priorities is to set free the violent extremists who assaulted those law enforcement officers on January 6th. Donald Trump intends to use the United States military against American citizens who simply disagree with him. People he calls ‘the enemy from within.’ This is not a candidate for president who is thinking about how to make your life better.”
Kamala’s Closing Argument then took on a more personal approach.
“There’s something about people being treated unfairly or overlooked that, frankly, just gets to me — I don’t like it,” the vice president said, adding, “If you give me the chance to fight on your behalf, there is nothing in the world that will stand in my way.”
She concluded her remarks by using history to make the case for her presidency, saying that the country was born “when we wrested freedom from a petty tyrant” and that, over centuries, Americans had fought threats both foreign and domestic to preserve the promise of democracy.
“They did not struggle, sacrifice, and lay down their lives, only to see us cede our fundamental freedoms, only to see us submit to the will of another petty tyrant,” Ms. Harris said. “The United States of America is not a vessel for the schemes of wannabe dictators. The United States of America is the greatest idea humanity ever devised.”
The location, the scenery, and her choice of words were all meticulously chosen to show Americans that she is, indeed presidential and ready for the job.

Kamala’s Closing Argument shows her as ‘presidential.’
She looked like a president last night. I’m sure that’s what they wanted.
