Key Bridge Conspiracy Nonsense From The GOP

Spread The Love

Earlier this week, a cargo ship crashed into the Key Bridge in Baltimore causing it to collapse. Too bad Republicans used the tragedy to concoct some crazy conspiracy theories.

Current Events :
At approximately 1:25am on Tuesday morning, the fully loaded container ship Dali (which was headed for Sri Lanka) began experiencing a technical malfunction. The ship immediately sent out a mayday signal, but it was already too late. It had hoped to warn that it was on a collision course with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. However, the ship ultimately hit the bridge, killing 6 people.

Key Bridge

This was a moment for all Americans to mourn the tragedy and the loss of life. Instead, Republican conspiracy theorists seized the moment to advance some rather absurd claims.

A Republican gubernatorial candidate in Utah blamed the bridge collapse on “diversity” programs. A Republican congressional candidate in Florida piggy-backed on the same conspiracy, as did a variety of far-right and MAGA figures. Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia called the Key Bridge disaster an “intentional attack,” while Steve Bannon told his audience he was convinced the collapse was the result of terrorism.

“The official line shouldn’t be believed,” conservatives barked all day while promoting their wild theories. “There are other nefarious truths out there that will bolster the right’s preconceived ideas.”

Eric Schmitt

Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt of Missouri told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham that the Key Bridge collapse was the fault of Joe Biden’s White House.

“The problem here is, this is the consequence, the sort of distrust of terrible leadership, when you have an administration that has weaponized the Department of Justice, tried to throw in political opponents in jail, tried to throw them off the ballot, conducted a vast censorship enterprise to silence Americans who don’t buy into their narrative — whether it was on efficacy of masks, or transmissibility of Covid after you’ve had the vaccine, or the Hunter Biden laptop,” Schmitt confusingly claimed.

Yes, Republican idiots had a field day turning a legitimate accident into a conspiracy of their own choosing.

Well, it didn’t take long for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to latch onto the madness and give it the mocking it deserves.

Mr.BD

Repubs are so dumb and the bad part is they have no idea.

Truthiz1

I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree with you my friend. I believe most of them know they’re “so dumb” BD. That’s the primary reason they’re trying to hang onto power by any means necessary. They know the elections in November will be their last chance to retain any semblance of Power after that.

It will be their last chance to remain relevant at all, in any meaningful way.
