KFC’s ‘DOUBLE-DOWN’
Some are calling it a “killer sandwich.” But others consider it a “Heart-Attack-In-A-Wrapper.” Meet the new “Double-Down” Sandwich from KFC. And boy is it stirring up controversy.
In case you’re wondering just exactly what a “Double-Down” sandwich really is, consider this: it features two boneless white meat chicken fillets (Original Recipe or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and Pepper Jack cheese, topped with the Colonel’s Sauce. But here’s the kicker: There’s no bread. The two pieces of chicken act as the buns. The meal amounts to a whopping 32 grams of fat and 540 calories — making it one of the top 5 most unhealthy items on KFC’s menu.
The sandwich is similar to something you’d find at a county fair, where deep fried “anything” is readily available. In case you’re pining to taste one for yourself, the new “Double-Down” is available nationwide today at all KFC restaurants.
