After only 72 days of marriage, the reality TV star known for sexing her way to the top, and the 2nd string B-list basketball player have decided to call it quits. The new/soon-to-not-be Mrs. Humphries filed for divorce on Monday only 2 months after her lavish August nuptials, citing “irreconcilable differences.” But onlookers via social networking sites are crying foul.
It was recently reported that team Kardashian had been seeking a husband for Kim months ago, in preparation for her new reality show “Kim & Kourtney Take New York.” Reportedly, the Kardashian klan wanted former New York Knicks player Danilo Gallinari as their #1 choice in the role of Mr. Kim Kardashian, saying it would provide an important jolt to his career. But when Gallinari turned the offer down, Plan B was quickly implemented with B-list New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries as the husband. Now with the NBA in an extended lock-out and Humphries shying away from the media spotlight (a Kardashian cardinal sin), his presence among the Kardashians seems to be no longer needed — and even dead weight. His relevance among the attention-seeking Kardashian’s dropped so quickly, Humprhies said he didn’t even find out about the divorce until TMZ reported it publicly. Hmmm…
In a statement released yesterday, Kim Kardashian had this to say about her joke short marriage:
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Kim and Kris wed after only 9 months of dating and are calling it quits after only 10 weeks of being husband and wife. Even the NBA lock-out lasted longer than this questionable marriage. Can anyone say publicity stunt?
